## From a garage to Zele

CRC started on 6 October 1958 as Corrosion Reaction Consultants, mixing a single product in drums in a garage. Its European business now makes its products in its own plant and laboratory in Zele, Belgium, and sells them under two lines: CRC Professional for workshops and industry, and CRC Consumer for retail.

## Why workshops stock it

Most mechanics know CRC for two cans: 5-56, the multi-purpose spray on nearly every bench, and Brakleen, a name many use for any brake cleaner. The professional grades come in cases of twelve, and the core cleaners and lubricants also come in 5 to 200 litre packs for refillable sprayers, which cuts can waste in busy bays.

## Technology

- [CO2 propellant](https://car-parts-universe.superfast.shop/en/technology/co2-propellant.md): Non-flammable CO2 instead of hydrocarbon gas, so about 95 % of the can is active product.
- [FPS (Food Processing Safe)](https://car-parts-universe.superfast.shop/en/technology/fps-food-processing-safe.md): FPS products are NSF-registered for use in food and drink plants (3-36 FPS has NSF H2 registration).
- [Bulk and refill packs](https://car-parts-universe.superfast.shop/en/technology/bulk-and-refill-packs.md): The core cleaners and lubricants also come in 5, 20, 60 and 200 litre packs for refillable pump sprayers.
- [360° spray valve](https://car-parts-universe.superfast.shop/en/technology/360-spray-valve.md): Aerosols spray at any angle, including upside down, so they reach the back of calipers and underbody parts.
- [Green Force certificate](https://car-parts-universe.superfast.shop/en/technology/green-force-certificate.md): Water-based and VOC-free versions, such as Brakleen VOC Free, have a Green Force certificate for their lower-impact formulas.
