### The job

SACHS 350 650 replaces a worn front strut on the Skoda Octavia IV. It goes on cars with PR code G01 or G02 and passive damping, in hatch and Combi form, front- or four-wheel drive. Mounting is bottom pin, as on the original, so it goes straight in without changes.

### Alongside it

Dampers should be changed in pairs on the same axle so the car stays balanced under braking and in bends. With the strut out, it is the natural time to replace the top mount, bump stops and dust covers, and to check springs, drop links and wheel alignment once it is back together.
