## Why this one

- **Complete repair kit**: Comes with four screws; nothing used goes back on.
- **Pre-set hub unit**: Flange and bearing in one sealed unit, with no end-play to set.
- **ABS encoder in seal**: Magnetic ring in the seal feeds the wheel-speed sensor; no separate tone ring.
- **Key dimensions**: 80 mm outer diameter, 136 mm flange, 5 wheel-bolt holes.

## On the job

### The job

VKBA 6556 replaces a worn front wheel bearing on the VW Golf VII, VW Golf VIII and Skoda Octavia III. It is a complete hub unit with the flange built in, pre-set and sealed at the factory, so there is no end-play to adjust and it bolts straight on. The magnetic ABS encoder sits in the seal: fit it the right way round and keep magnetic tools and metal swarf away from it.

### In the box and alongside

The kit comes with four screws, so no used fasteners go back on. SKF recommends its special tool VKN 604 for the job. SKF lists two per axle, and with the wheel off it is the moment to check the brake discs, pads, the CV joint boot and the other side's bearing.
