### The job

VKBA 7039 replaces a worn rear wheel bearing on the Peugeot 3008. It is a complete hub unit with the flange built in, pre-set and sealed at the factory, so there is no end-play to adjust and it bolts straight on. A worn bearing shows up as a hum that rises with road speed and changes when the car loads up in a bend.

### In the box and alongside

The kit comes with four screws, so no used fasteners go back on. SKF recommends its special tool VKN 604 for the job. SKF lists two per axle, and with the wheel off it is the moment to check the brake discs, pads, the CV joint boot and the other side's bearing.
