Protection after cleaning
3-36 is the oil to put on steel that has just been degreased: machined faces, brake and hub hardware waiting on the shelf, air tools and precision parts. It spreads into a thin, non-sticky film that lubricates and keeps humidity off, giving indoor rust protection for up to about six months depending on conditions. The active product works from -50 to +120 °C.
Clean, then protect
CRC's own directions for Fast Dry Degreaser say to follow up with 3-36, and that is how most shops use the pair. Apply it only to clean, dry surfaces and do not mix it with other lubricants. The FPS grade is NSF H2 registered for food and drink plants, and the 5, 20 and 200 litre packs suit refillable sprayers.
