The OSRAM name goes back to 1906. The Munich lamp maker, now part of ams OSRAM, supplies halogen, xenon and LED light sources to carmakers as original equipment, so many of the bulbs it sells to workshops are the same types that left the factory in the headlamp. Its catalogue covers headlamp bulbs, xenon burners and the small signal bulbs every car uses.

At the counter, OSRAM is three decisions. ORIGINAL LINE is the OE-spec replacement for a dead bulb. NIGHT BREAKER LASER is the brighter halogen upgrade for customers who drive in the dark, at the cost of a shorter life. XENARC covers xenon burners for bi-xenon headlamps. OSRAM also sells LED retrofits for halogen headlamps, approved only for the cars on its compatibility list.
