On the job
Diesel element
The PU 10 028 z is an insert for the original fuel filter housing. Its fine media holds back the particles that wear common-rail pumps and injectors, and it separates water from the diesel so it can be drained from the housing. With no metal in it, the used element can be incinerated.
Service set
On a service the workshop usually replaces it together with the oil filter HU 7032 z, air filter C 24 036 and cabin filter CU 29 003-2 for the same car, so one order covers the filters. The fitment list shows exactly which versions it suits. Log the change in the service book and reset the service indicator.
