The job
VKBA 3598 replaces a worn front wheel bearing on the Fiat Doblò Maxi. It is a cartridge bearing that is pressed into place, so plan for a press and the right adapters before the job starts. The magnetic ABS encoder sits in the seal: fit it the right way round and keep magnetic tools and metal swarf away from it.
In the box and alongside
The kit comes with a fastener set and a service booklet, so no used fasteners go back on. SKF recommends its special tool VKN 604 for the job. SKF lists two per axle, and with the wheel off it is the moment to check the brake discs, pads, the CV joint boot and the other side's bearing.
