VKBA 7799 replaces a worn front wheel bearing on the Fiat 124 Spider. SKF supplies it as a ready-to-fit unit matched to the original design, with the single-use parts the job calls for. A worn bearing shows up as a hum that rises with road speed and changes when the car loads up in a bend.
In the box and alongside
The kit comes with three screws, so no used fasteners go back on. SKF recommends its special tool VKN 604 for the job. SKF lists two per axle, and with the wheel off it is the moment to check the brake discs, pads, the CV joint boot and the other side's bearing.
