Why this one
01
1.1 mm gap
Set at the factory, Bosch type FR 8 KII 33 X.
02
28 Nm torque
19 mm reach, 16 mm plug socket.
03
Iridium both electrodes
Slow electrode wear keeps the gap stable over long intervals.
On the job
What it does
Iridium on both the centre and the ground electrode wears very slowly, so the gap stays close to the factory 1.1 mm over long service intervals. That matters on hybrids, where the engine starts and stops constantly and every restart has to fire cleanly. Bosch type FR 8 KII 33 X, 19 mm reach, tightened to 28 Nm.
Fitting and what else to check
Change all plugs on the engine in one go and fit them with a torque wrench into a cold head; aluminium threads strip easily. Blow out the plug wells before removal, and check the coil boots for tracking marks or cracks while they are off.
