The job
SACHS 315 373 replaces a worn front right-hand strut on the Fiat Doblò Cargo 1.6 MultiJet. ZF sells the sides separately, so pair it with 315 372 for the left-hand side; it is built for a van that works for a living. Mounting is top pin, as on the original, so it goes straight in without changes.
Alongside it
Dampers should be changed in pairs on the same axle so the car stays balanced under braking and in bends. With the strut out, it is the natural time to replace the top mount, bump stops and dust covers, and to check springs, drop links and wheel alignment once it is back together.
