The job
SACHS 900 406 protects the front dampers on the Fiat Doblò Cargo 1.6 MultiJet. The dust covers keep grit and water off the piston rods, and the bump stops take the last of the travel so the dampers never bottom out. It goes on with new front struts 315 372 and 315 373, and a new pair of top mounts if the old ones are tired.
Alongside it
Old bump stops harden and crumble and dust covers split with age, and a new damper behind them wears out early. That is why the kit belongs on the same job as new dampers or struts: the parts are already off, so it adds almost no labour.
