On the job
The job
The condenser sits in front of the radiator and takes stone chips, road salt and the odd parking knock. This one covers the first-generation MQB cars in our range. The receiver-drier is built in, so a new drier comes with every condenser, which is what the circuit needs after it has been open.
Check before ordering
On the Golf VII Valeo lists it by PR code, so check the build sticker. If the compressor has failed, fit the new condenser after flushing, since debris lodges in the tubes. Handle it by the frame, keep the pipe ends capped until the last moment, and fit new O-rings lubricated with the correct compressor oil.
