On the job
The job
The condenser for the newer MQB Evo cars and the facelifted Passat. It is a wide, shallow aluminium core that sits ahead of the radiator and collects stone damage and salt corrosion. Valeo lists no drier in this part, so replace the drier separately when the circuit is opened.
Check before ordering
Valeo also lists a version with a drier for the same cars, so compare with the part on the car. On the Passat it fits cars from 08.2019. Keep the pipe ends capped until fitting and use new O-rings lubricated with the correct compressor oil. If the compressor has failed, flush the circuit first.
