Where it belongs
A conventional flooded lead-acid battery for cars and vans without start-stop and with normal electrical demand. It is the cost-effective replacement where the car came with a standard battery, and it needs no topping up. The D31 case, 306 x 173 x 225 mm with a B01 ledge, is the size many Asian pickups and SUVs use.
Fitting it right
Do not fit it in a start-stop car; those need EFB or AGM. Compare the ETN and cold-cranking figure with the battery that comes out, check the clamp and terminals for corrosion, and test the charging voltage if the old battery died young. Take the old one back for recycling.
