Cartridge element
The HU 7048 z is the paper-and-plastic insert that goes into the engine's own oil filter housing. There is no can to throw away, so the old element can be incinerated with no metal to strip out. It measures 71 mm across and 60 mm tall and comes with the O-rings the housing cap needs, so the job is done without a trip back to the counter.
Service set
On a service the workshop usually replaces it together with the air filter C 28 040, fuel filter WK 8060 z and cabin filter CU 24 024 for the same car, so one order covers the filters. The fitment list shows exactly which versions it suits. Log the change in the service book and reset the service indicator.
