Made for stop-start hybrids
In a full hybrid the petrol engine switches on and off all the time and often runs cooler than in a normal car. That lets water and fuel collect in the oil. MAGNATEC Hybrid is formulated for that duty cycle and meets Castrol's own HYSPEC hybrid standard. The 0W-16 grade has ILSAC GF-6B, the category for the thinnest oils Toyota specifies.
Toyota hybrid service
Toyota fills the Corolla 1.8 Hybrid and Yaris 1.5 Hybrid with 0W-16, and the RAV4 2.5 Hybrid accepts it as well. Do not replace it with a heavier grade to be safe; the engines are built for the thin oil. The service is oil, oil filter, drain plug washer and a cabin filter, with the inverter coolant on its own long interval.
