The job
SACHS 560 592 replaces a worn front left-hand strut on the Kia Niro I hybrid. ZF sells the sides separately, so pair it with 560 593 for the right-hand side; it fits cars on standard suspension. Mounting is top pin, as on the original, so it goes straight in without changes.
Alongside it
Dampers should be changed in pairs on the same axle so the car stays balanced under braking and in bends. With the strut out, it is the natural time to replace the top mount, bump stops and dust covers, and to check springs, drop links and wheel alignment once it is back together.
