On the job
In-place cleaning
Short-trip city cars often block their particulate filter long before the service is due. With the filter below 40 °C, the workshop removes the temperature or pressure sensor, feeds the Pro-Line spray probe into the filter with the DPF pressure gun and sprays the cleaner onto the loaded surface. The fluid dissolves hardened, dense and encrusted deposits.
Before you start
Check where the filter sits: on some cars it is close to the manifold or turbo, and no fluid may reach the combustion chamber through an open exhaust valve. Wear gloves and eye protection, since it irritates skin and eyes. Afterwards depressurise the gun and drain its tank completely before storing it.
