DSG service
Wet dual-clutch gearboxes need one fluid that handles clutch friction, synchroniser grip, gear protection and the hydraulic control. Dual Clutch Transmission Oil 8100 is recommended for the VW DSG part numbers G 052 182, G 052 529 and G 055 529 among others, and the oil guide lists it for the Golf, Passat, Tiguan, Transporter, Octavia and A4 with DSG or S tronic.
Other makes
It also covers Volvo 1161838 and 1161839, so the 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox in the XC40 Recharge takes the same fluid, as do units calling for Ford WSS-M2C 936-A, MB 236.21 or BMW DCTF-1. Change the gearbox filter where the unit has one, and follow the maker's fill procedure.
