The Volvo oil
Volvo fills its Drive-E four-cylinders and the three-cylinder in the XC40 Recharge with 0W-20 to its own RBS0-2AE standard, diesel and petrol alike. Special Tec V carries that approval, and the oil guide lists nothing else for our XC60, V60 and XC40, so this is the grade to keep on the shelf for Volvo service work.
Low friction
The oil combines synthetic-technology base oils with a modern additive package to keep friction inside the engine down, which is what Volvo's fuel figures assume. For bulk use it comes in 20 l, 60 l and 205 l containers. Replace the oil filter element and sump plug seal at the same time.
