The job
VKMA 01282 renews the cam belt drive on the 1.5 eTSI in the VW Golf VIII. It holds the belt (163 teeth, 20 mm wide) and the tensioner and idler pulleys, so the parts that wear together are replaced together. SKF gives the belt a PTFE-based material.
Doing it once
A worn tensioner is often what takes a new belt out early, which is why SKF sells the two as a set. Check the water pump and the auxiliary belt while the covers are off, and lock the engine with the correct timing tools.
