The job
The Transit Custom is a working van and its clutch sees heavy use from full loads and stop-start deliveries. This kit renews the 258 mm cover and disc and the central slave cylinder together on the 2.0 EcoBlue manual. The slave cylinder has an aluminium body rather than plastic.
Check alongside
The dual-mass flywheel is reused, so check it for play and runout; if it is worn, the FULLPACK 837571 covers flywheel, clutch and slave cylinder in one box. No special tools are needed to fit the kit. Bleed the clutch hydraulics after fitting; the new slave cylinder has to be filled completely before the pedal feels right.
