On the job
The job it does
Co-Cast solid disc for the rear axle of the Mercedes-Benz C 220 d (W205). New it measures 300 x 12 mm and it must be replaced at 10.3 mm. The high-carbon iron damps vibration and copes better with heat, which helps against judder. The steel hat makes it lighter than a one-piece disc, the same construction the car had from new.
Fitting it
Discs are always changed in axle pairs, and this one comes as a pair in the box. Fit new rear pads at the same time, clean the hub face back to bare metal and check the caliper slide pins. Brembo lists a tightening torque of 150 Nm. A brake fluid change is often due at the same visit.
