On the job
The job
The all-round DOT 4 for cars whose handbook asks for plain DOT 4 rather than a low-viscosity Class 6 fluid, and for hydraulic clutch systems. It is fully synthetic and glycol-based with corrosion inhibitors, with a 260 °C dry and 160 °C wet boiling point. febi publishes no vehicle list for it, so go by the car's specification.
Alongside it
It mixes with other glycol-based DOT 3, DOT 4 and DOT 5.1 fluids, but cars that need Class 6 should get DOT 4 LV instead. The 5 l can suits workshops with a bleeding unit. Close bottles straight after use, as the fluid absorbs moisture from the air.
