On the job
The job
SACHS 900 358 protects the rear dampers on the VW Golf VII and VIII, Passat B8, Tiguan II and Skoda Octavia III and IV. The dust covers keep grit and water off the piston rods, and the bump stops take the last of the travel so the dampers never bottom out. It is one kit per axle, with two cable ties in the box, and the PR code on the car decides which kit fits.
Alongside it
Old bump stops harden and crumble and dust covers split with age, and a new damper behind them wears out early. That is why the kit belongs on the same job as new dampers or struts: the parts are already off, so it adds almost no labour.
