Why this one
01
Twin-tube gas design
Inner working tube and outer reserve tube, with gas to stop the oil foaming.
02
Original mounting points
Mounting is bottom eye, top pin, matched to the original part.
03
Split by version
Chosen by chassis version and codes; check the fitment note before ordering.
On the job
The job
SACHS 350 180 replaces a worn rear shock absorber on the Volvo V60 II. Volvo splits its dampers by chassis code, so check the 7D code on the car before ordering; this one covers the standard-suspension codes. Mounting is bottom eye, top pin, as on the original, so it goes straight in without changes.
Alongside it
Change dampers in pairs on the same axle so the car stays balanced under braking and in bends. With the old unit out, check the bump stops, dust covers and mounting bushes and replace any that are split or flattened; a new damper on a worn bump stop soon gets damaged again.
