The job
VKMA 31273 renews the auxiliary drive on the 2.0 TDI in the VW Golf VII, VW Passat B8, VW Tiguan II, Skoda Octavia III and Audi A4 B9: the poly-V belt VKMV 6PK1026 (6 ribs, 1026 mm long) and the automatic tensioner VKM 31130 that keeps it at the right tension. A glazed or cracked belt and a tensioner arm that shakes at idle are the signs it is due.
Doing it once
Check the alternator freewheel pulley and replace it if it slips or locks, as SKF points out; a failed freewheel chews up a new belt quickly. Many workshops do this kit together with the timing belt, since the auxiliary belt has to come off for that job anyway.
