The job
VKMA 36151 renews the auxiliary drive on the D4 diesel in the Volvo XC60 and Volvo V60: the poly-V belt VKMV 6PK1180 and the automatic tensioner VKM 36151 that keeps it at the right tension. A glazed or cracked belt and a tensioner arm that shakes at idle are the signs it is due.
Doing it once
Check the alternator freewheel pulley and replace it if it slips or locks, as SKF points out; a failed freewheel chews up a new belt quickly. Many workshops do this kit together with the timing belt, since the auxiliary belt has to come off for that job anyway.
